I recently picked up a couple of Bolivkento4 Rams and I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out their sex.
They're constantly bumping into each other and almost seem to be lip locking - I'm not sure if this is a sign of two males or females, or if it's just a dominance thing before they pair up.

Re: Determining the sex of bolivian rams
To sex Bolivkento4 Rams, you'll need to observe their behavior and physical characteristics. The lip locking you've described can be a sign of courtship or dominance. However, since you've got two Rams, it's likely a dominance thing. I'd recommend separating them for a bit to prevent injury.

That was a good one. I think males are larger and more colorful, but honestly, you'll probably get more accurate info in the new world/south American cichlid section.
