Hey everyone,
I was at my local fish store the other day and I saw this torch coral that I just can't seem to identify. The staff there had no idea what it was either - they said it's something they've never come across before, possibly a new type.

Re: Identifying torch coral species
Could it be an Indo gold torch, or something entirely new like the store mentioned?

Aussie gold torch
Re: Identifying torch coral species
very nice Aussie Gold Torch, keep the lighting low and you'll be rewarded with those gorgeous, vibrant tentacles staying a lovely golden hue.

I've had a gold torch for ages now, no big deal.
Re: Identifying torch coral species
In the UK, we actually refer to them as 'Aussie Yellow Tipped Gold'. To keep the colour looking its best, I've found it's best to keep the lighting and flow on the lower side.

Aussies tend to have thicker tentacles, whereas Indo ones are generally slender. Still a lovely torch, though.

That's quite a price tag if you ask me, hefty indeed. If it weren't, I would've definitely grabbed it without hesitation.
