is this tank suitable for cichlids?

Post by photobug »

My linki didn't get cichlids yet since I'm heading out on vacation, but I will add them afterwards, then I'll remove all the other fish.

Tank size plays a role here. More rocks would definitely be needed, though. Rainbows would make great dither fish. Paratilapia might become an issue as it grows.

I'm on the same page. More rocks are definitely in the plan, just gotta get back from vacation first. Then I'll add the buffer, salt, and more rocks before bringing in the fish. Got a move coming up on September 5th, wondering if I should hold off on the fish till after. But I'm gonna have the pros from the aquarium store handle the move, so that's a plus.

Considering your move is just around the corner, I'd recommend holding off on the redecoration and fish addition till after. This way, you'll avoid double the work and it'll be more cost-effective to have the LFS handle the tank move and setup in one go.
