Frogspawn coral care and flow requirements

Post by dusked6 »

Had a bit of a scare with our little frogspawn - one of the powerheads got shifted and I think it might've been too much flow, looked like some tissue damage was done. Adjusted it back and the coral was fine but it's not getting as big as it used to. I bumped up the flow a bit today, so we'll see what happens. I had no idea they were this sensitive to flow changes.

Low to medium flow, indirect, seems to be the sweet spot for optimal expansion.

Agreed, low flow's the way to go till it's fully healed. Once it's back to normal, you can bump it up to medium. Good luck with the recovery, hopefully it'll get back to its best expansion soon.

They seem to enjoy a gentle dance, swaying back and forth, but if the flow's too strong and they're stuck to one side, it's just too much. Gentle movement's key to getting that best expansion.

My LPS corals seem to really enjoy the swaying motion from the Wave settings, it's definitely their favorite.
