How to keep your plants free of pests

It's worth a try if you're that concerned. Some plants can handle it better than others, so it's hard to say for sure. Never personally done it myself, but it might be worth a shot.

I'm gonna take the plunge and give it a shot. I used to be swimming in plants, but since I stopped using flourish excel, my numbers have really taken a hit. Now I'm down to just a little bit of flourish comprehensive during water changes - I mix half RO and half tap, which I know my plants aren't too fond of, but my inhabitants are thriving.

If you're still worried about any lingering bleach, you could always dip your plants in a dechlorinator solution afterwards. I've found that using unscented bleach and making sure it's free of surfactants helps put my mind at ease.

Honestly, I think bleach dips are often unnecessary if you're buying from a reputable supplier. I've had great experiences with tropica and aqua fluer - most of their plants are grown emmersed and are usually pest and algae-free.
