I just received my tissue culture shipment.

Considering expansion of my shop's offerings, I'm looking into tissue cultures.

If I decide to go planted again, I'll definitely keep you in mind.

You planning on learning to tissue culture at home, cut out the middle man and save some cash?

I've been looking into that, and to be honest, I'm not sure I've got the space for it at the moment. I'd need a sterile environment, which is a bit of a challenge for me right now.

You're right, a sterile environment is key for the plants, not so much for me. I'd just need to make sure my equipment is clean, wear gloves and a mask, and have a clean workspace - a benchtop would do. The main issue is bacteria, yeast, or fungus getting into the culture containers, they'd feed on the nutrients and hormones and multiply rapidly.

I might consider giving it a shot. Currently, I'm paying $3.95 per cup, which seems steep. I'm pretty sure I could produce them at a lower cost.
