breeding kribs

Post by lakefox »

I think I got a male and female, hopefully. I'm guessing the male is trying to sneak in to hide the smaller one. How will I know when I'll see the little kribs? Are these two actually male and female?

I think you might have 2 females depending on their size. Males are generally bigger, they've got pointy tails and longer fins, that's how you can tell.

Thanks for the info coltin, 2 females could be a good thing. I'm hoping for one of each though, I've had a male make an entrance to hide a smaller one before, so I'm guessing that's what's going on here.

Both my fish seem to be guarding the shell, they're entering it together with just their mouths poking out. They've partially blocked the entrance with gravel. I'll try to get a pic of them both together.

Looks like they're both comfortable in there.

Managed to get some pics, left one's smaller and brighter, thinking that's the female. Right one's duller, dorsal fins look longer.
