identifying these fish

So a coworker's giving away their setup, no idea what's in it since they got it from some business that didn't want it anymore. I said I'd take it, but there's this one fish with an inkline on it - not sure what that means. They don't know the other fish either, so I told them I'd rehome any I don't want. My issue's with the inkline fish - I don't want it to die, but I also don't think it should be on display, might create a market for it. What do you guys think, and any ideas on what type of fish it is?

Looks like a blood parrot, that's my guess. Not an african cichlid, I'm pretty sure of that.

Honestly, I'm not really interested in keeping it, what would you guys do with a fish like that, especially with the inkline on it.

Honestly, I'd consider rehoming it - either take it to a local fish store or pass it along to someone on this forum who might be a better fit.

Inkline usually comes from stress or injury, I'm guessing this poor guy went through something rough.

I've heard that some LFS actually do the inking themselves using a dye or something, not entirely sure how it works though.

They inkline them in Asia, seen it done to blood parrots, albino gouramis, and even albino Oscars. It's just a terrible practice, really don't think any responsible store should be carrying these fish. And to be honest, I'm not a fan of dyed or painted fish and glass either.
