Morning all, hope you're having a great Sunday.
I'm looking to add plants to my new aquarium and I'm after some advice on where to order online from. I've recently set up a second tank, and as part of my plan, I'll be using RO water from my local aquatic shop to soften my water once it's cycled - I learned the hard way with my first tank that a fishless cycle is the way to go.

I've got my corys to move from my old tank, another mistake I made by buying them from a high street store.
The thing is, my local aquatic shops are still a 25 mile round trip, so I'd rather order my plants online. I'm in the UK, so does anyone have any recommendations for online retailers that specialise in aquarium plants? Any websites that you've had good experiences with would be great to know.

I've had a good experience with Tropica for ordering plants online. They've got a pretty useful site that's not just about selling you stuff, it also gives you some helpful info on plant care and difficulty levels for growing different types.

I'm in the UK too, so no worries about shipping and all that. Yeah, they might be a bit pricier than some other places, but I've never had any issues with them and they seem to take care when posting the plants, no snails or chemicals to worry about.

I've had a good experience with k2aqua on Ebay, their plants are guaranteed safe for shrimp-keeping and that's a big plus for me. The only issue is, he's quite popular and often sells out quickly.

It's essential to consider the safety of any inverts you plan to keep when buying plants. I've learned that plants imported from outside the EU are typically treated with snail killers, which isn't ideal. Even some UK sellers import plants from the Far East and they've been treated with insecticides - one of our members recently had this issue. On the other hand, EU-grown and in vitro plants are generally safe for inverts.

That's quite a coincidence; I was just watching a KG Tropicals video about common mistakes YouTubers make. They had a trader on who made the same error, adding fresh plants to her aquariums, and it ended up costing her hundreds of shrimp.

Been really pleased with the plants I got from Tropical Fish Keeping UK - they've got the full Tropica range, which is a big plus for me.
