creating a suitable environment for protomelas taeniolatus

Hi, I've got a Protomelas Taeniolatus I want to center my tank around. I was considering an all-male peacock tank, but I've been reading mixed reviews about them. They seem to be a bit dull to watch, despite their appearance. I'm still on the fence about it, though. Are there any other options for a 55-gallon tank? I've been having trouble finding inspiration for this setup, and some pics would be great if anyone has them.
