I haven't done that, just been giving them freeze-dried bloodworms once a week.

Next step for me is figuring out how to set up the tank for both betta, got the anacharis down, but that's about it.

You'll need to condition them with live food for a couple of weeks beforehand. I'd recommend live foods, little and often - it makes a huge difference. You can't feed them while they're breeding, and it's a long process - the male has to care for the nest and eggs for days after, and then the fry until they're free-swimming.

Before you start breeding, have a clear plan in place for the fry - what you're going to do with them once they're grown out. It's not just a matter of breeding and then figuring it out - it takes a lot of time and resources.

I'm totally out of my depth with betta breeding - my experience is limited to livebearers, which are a breeze. I mean, they practically breed themselves. But betta breeding seems like a whole different ball game - the prep work for the male and female is intense, and the fry need so much more care than livebearers do. It's a bit overwhelming, to be honest.

That's why I'd recommend reaching out to @roygun_1 - he's got hands-on experience with betta breeding and has fry right now. His advice would be invaluable. @luminx and @juicebox are also super knowledgeable about bettas, so don't hesitate to ask them for tips either. Good luck with your breeding journey!
