Keeping kryptonite candy cane corals: challenges and tips

I've had experience bringing them back from the brink - they're pretty resilient. Lighting-wise, I think they can handle a range of conditions, just be mindful to keep them out of direct flow to avoid irritating the tissue on that jagged skeleton.

I've had a pretty mixed experience with mine. It's grown from a single head to around 15-20 heads in about a year, which is great. However, it's also had its fair share of setbacks - twice it's necrosed and receded down to almost nothing, just a bare skeleton and a few bits of tissue. The first time, I'm pretty sure it was due to aggression from other corals, so I treated it and moved it to a safer spot. The second time, I'm not so sure - maybe it was the nutrient levels being too low, or possibly the water changes being too frequent. Either way, I made some adjustments, letting my nitrogen and phosphorus levels creep up a bit, and it's since recovered and even fattened back up.

Recently, I had an issue with my coral where the skeleton was visible. I'm pretty sure it was my chalice's sweepers that were causing the irritation. The flow also seemed to be a problem, so I decided to move it to a different location. Thankfully, that solved the issue and the tissue is now growing back.

I've had a few different types of Kryptos in the past - the red ones, the mint greens and most recently, a small frag of the Kryptos. The Kryptos are definitely my favorite so far. They're growing really well, splitting heads in no time. They're great eaters and look amazing.
