Brain coral issues

My brain coral's been looking really receded lately, which is weird since nothing's changed in the tank. It's the only one doing this and I've had it for over two months - normally it's super full.

For what it's worth, my parameters are: Calc 420, Alk 9, Mag 1400, 1.025/26, Phosphate's undetectable on the API kit, and Nitrate's at 5.

Target feeding, do you?

You could try dipping it in Revive, or maybe some Coral Rx, see if that helps it bounce back.

I don't target feed it, haven't since I got it. Been about three months now, and I just feed the whole tank with Cyclops ez every now and then.

I'll go ahead and order some Revive, can't seem to find it locally, or Coral Rx for that matter.

In my experience, trachyphyllia doesn't take well to high flow and high temps. I've seen it cause issues before. Hopefully the dip will help, good luck with that.

Still no change as of last night, mouth opens a bit when I feed but that's about it. Only thing I've done differently is move him about 2" away from the lights a week ago, so I put him back to his original spot. Doesn't seem to be getting worse, just not improving either. I'll see if the move has an effect when I get home from work today. Got Revive on order, just hope he holds on till Tuesday. Also got some new corals coming in then, a Button Coral, Plate, Multi Flower Lobo, and a Galaxia Coral Frag. Fingers crossed everything works out, rest of my corals look great.

Watch out for those Galaxia sweepers, they can cause some damage.

Yeah I'm gonna keep the Galaxia downstream from everything else, heard it can be a bit of a bully. For the price I got it at, seemed like a no-brainer, figured I'd take a chance.

In my experience, I've found that they really take to target feeding. After I feed the tank, I wait for the sweepers to come out and then I give it some meaty bits. I have to keep an eye on it for a bit after that, make sure the fish don't swoop in and steal the food.

Looking forward to seeing the size of the frag, the rest of my order is for bigger corals, 3" plus, got the galaxia on a whim. How's the growth on yours and where do you place it?
