can anthias coexist with other species of anthias?
Considering the species you've chosen, could a 500 gallon tank accommodate three species of anthias - Lyretail Anthias, Bartlett's Anthias, and Dispar Anthias - in groups of 13 each.
Re: can anthias coexist with other species of anthias?
In a 500-gallon tank, you generally don't have to worry about mixing issues, but with smaller tanks, caution is advised.
I'd advise against adding Bartlett's Anthias, as they tend to be aggressive and don't mix well with other species. Lyretail Anthias, while relatively easier to keep, can also be on the aggressive side compared to other pseudoanthias. However, you'll likely have better luck with Lyretails than Bartlett's in a large tank like yours. Still, I'd recommend avoiding Bartlett's if you plan to keep multiple species.
Dispar Anthias usually get along fine with other species. There are many peaceful species out there, so you may want to explore those options. In my own tank, I have three Lyretails, and the two larger ones are quite aggressive towards each other as they establish dominance. Adding a male of each species at the same time as the females might help minimize aggression issues.
