I stumbled upon this awesome website a while back that had a ton of info on typical marine fish you'd usually find in most local fish stores. Unfortunately, I've lost the link and can't seem to find it again. If anyone knows of a good site that lists basic fish compatibilities and the like in a general sense, I'd really appreciate it.

prob one of the best sites i've come across is peteducation.com, they've got a marine section that's pretty comprehensive, covers basic compatibilities and stuff.

Cheers mate, you always seem to be on hand with some top info. Got a bit of a situation with one of my black and white striped damsels, it's doing this weird thing where it lets the current take it up about 2/3 inches, then suddenly darts back down, and it keeps repeating this for a couple of minutes. After that, it's fine for a bit, then it starts all over again.

Also, the flame angel's been giving them a bit of grief, so I'm thinking of taking your advice and getting rid of them, but I've got to tread carefully, the missus loves them and I don't want to be on the receiving end of her wrath.

Another top site for marine info is Wet Web Media - they've got a wealth of accurate and useful stuff on there. Make sure to head to the Marine section and do a search, and don't forget to tick that box below the search box to keep it to just Wet Web Media. The info on there is top-notch, and some of the guys who write for them are actual authors of marine books, so you know it's good.

That first site's got some pretty dodgy info, take the section on frogfish for example - totally out. I'll second the vote for WWM though, it's a top resource.

Does anyone even bother with Fishbase these days?
