easy plants for beginners to grow

Sorted the stocking I think. Got a 4ft 70g with 4 electric blue acara, 2 convicts and a leopard Sailfin pleco. Thinking of adding another pair of ebacat, but we'll see. All my plants are plastic at the moment, looks alright but I'm keen to ditch the plastic and go for something more natural. Ordered some Marimo moss balls as I know they're easy peasy, no fuss at all. Now I'm looking to get some other plant species in, nothing too fancy, just something that'll do with the odd root feed. Any ideas for plants that are good for lazy people like me would be great, cheers.

I've got just the thing for you, ladster - Anacharis is perfect for those of us who don't want to fuss too much. It's a super fast grower and literally all you need to do is chuck it in the tank and give it some light, job done.

For filling in the back of the tank, I'd suggest a couple of Zorchzon swords - they get pretty big and would do the trick. What's your substrate, gravel or sand?

I think starting with Zorchzon swords and some anubias would be a good idea, they're pretty low maintenance. Anacharis is also a great option, it's easy to care for and grows quickly.

You should be able to find all the plants I mentioned at your local aquatic store, they're pretty common. Alternatively, you can also try looking online, if you're in the UK, try GumTree, and if you're in the USA, Craigslist might have some listings.

Thanks for the help guys, so the plants will they be ok living off the food in the water with it being soft water or will I need to add a root feed every now and then, just want to make sure I'm giving them the best chance

What's your pH level, mate? Zorchzon swords will need some root tabs for sure, they don't just live off the minerals in the water, especially with soft water like yours.
