planted aquariums
Re: planted aquariums
Congrats on the little pepper corys, that's awesome. I've had a similar experience with my red eyed tetras, they'd grown too big for the other fish to eat and I was worried about adding shrimp to my tank since I found out they'd go after them. That's why I'm glad I was able to catch most of them and they're now on their way to my bother-in-law's tank.
Re: planted aquariums
I have to say, I've been there with the plastic plants - they're so easy to care for. I've since made the switch to live plants and I have to admit, I've become a bit obsessed. I've got two planted tanks now and I just love the way they look. My smaller tank has a variety of plants, including Anacharis, Anubias, frogbit, and a few others. I've even got a little baby sword plant that's just starting to take off. For me, it's not the fish that are addictive - it's the plants. I think they really add to the overall ambiance of the tank and help my fish feel more at home. Plus, they act as a natural filter, which is a bonus.
