Hi everyone,
My betta's really stressed out at the moment, so I'm looking into getting some floating plants to help him out. I've got a twenty gallon tank with my betta and some Cory cats. Can anyone recommend some pretty and easy-to-find plants that bettas love? I'd really appreciate it, thanks!

Re: floating plants
Although I haven't had bettas for 15 years, I do have some experience with floating plants that might work for you. I'm currently using frogbit, hornwort, and wisteria in my tank - they're all relatively fast-growing and low-maintenance, making them suitable for a low-light, low-tech setup. One advantage of these plants is that, as they develop roots, you can transfer them to the substrate if you prefer.

You could try water lettuce, it's a great option. Get some geneflake ferts and you'll be all set, your betta will love playing in the roots of the frogbit and water lettuce.

Wisteria's a solid choice, always works well for me.

Great suggestions from everyone. Can't add much to the plant ideas, but just wanted to mention that having a background on the tank, if you don't already, makes a big difference. Also, positioning the tank away from doorways and heavy foot traffic areas can really help reduce stress. My bettas love using their coconut huts to take cover, it's one of their favorite things to do.

My tank is actually near a door, but my betta seems to enjoy the company - he always swims up to greet people when they come in.

They're like adorable little companions, aren't they, always excited to see us, just like those cute puppies.

My betta is loving the frogbit, really seems to enjoy playing in the roots and the extra cover it provides.

My betta's tankmate likes the cory-friendly plants, but I think the betta itself is more into the frogbit - they seem to enjoy playing in the roots of it, not eating it though.

Mine likes to chill in and play around anacharis.
