Are these snail eggs or something else entirely?
Just did a water change and came across something weird on one of my new water sprite plants. Not sure what it is - could it be snail eggs?

You have snails, right? What type are they?

That thing is seriously gross, it's like something I hacked up this morning.

Maybe they're from one of my fish? I've got catfish, cherry barbs, neon tetras, neptunes and red eye tetras.

Looks like pest snail eggs to me, probably hitched a ride on those new plants you got online.

No, that's not fish eggs. The eggs of your other species don't resemble that either. I'd be more concerned about the red eye tetras, they're notorious fin nippers, might be a problem for your neptunes.cichlidgirl22 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 13, 2022 12:16 pm Just did a water change and came across something weird on one of my new water sprite plants. Honestly, it doesn't look like eggs to me. More like a buildup of debris or algae. I highly doubt anything will hatch from that.

Honestly, that looks more like a patch of algae to me. I'd be pretty surprised if anything viable hatches from it.
