I've had my discus for a while now, they're not juveniles anymore, and after a massive tank cleanup, I decided to bump up the temperature in my discus tank from 82F to 86F. I've also got cardinals, sterbai, rummy nose, and bristlenose plecos in there.
I'm aware that higher temps increase metabolism and appetite, but they also lower dissolved oxygen levels. Still, I was curious to see how the increased temperature would affect their behavior and coloration.
What's the typical temperature range for adult discus tanks?

You'll likely hear a range of temps from 81 to 86F. For my non-breeding adult discus, I aim for 84-86F. Not that I'm super strict about it - a degree up or down doesn't keep me up at night. Honestly, most of the time I don't even bother checking the temp, just stick my hand in the tank and that's good enough for me.

I run my non-picky eaters at 82F, but for the finicky ones, it's 86-93F, depending on how stubborn they're being.

82 is my go-to. I'm not too fussed about a degree or two higher, but anything lower and I get a bit anxious.

My setup's got a pair of Fluval E300 heaters, both set at 81 degrees. They're set to alert me if the temp goes off by three degrees in either direction - the LED screen changes color to let me know.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll stick with the 86F for now and see how my discus respond. Hopefully it's not too warm for my cardinals and sterbai - I'll be keeping an eye on them.
