I'm crossing my fingers for you, Aurumix. When I had my jawfish, I could actually see under the tank since it's on a metal stand, and I'd catch glimpses of him in his little hidey hole. You might want to try that, see if you can spot him that way.

Also, when you're feeding the fish, just stand really still for a bit and see if he darts out for food. Mine used to do that for a while, it was pretty cool.

Unfortunately, I had some issues with my other fish harassing him, and it didn't end well. But like you said, they're absolutely stunning, and I hope your guy is still alive and just being super shy.

Hi Gazbo, just out of curiosity, I've noticed your substrate seems a bit on the shallow side - does your jawfish seem to be doing alright with that? I've always had a thing for these beautiful fish.
