Recommended online resources for plant enthusiasts

Post by LellaMe »

I'm on the hunt for some affordable, high-quality plants - anyone got any suggestions?
Was initially looking at Pro Shrimp, but I've heard mixed reviews about their quality.
Abyss Aquatic Warehouse is another option, but it's a bit out of my budget and their selection is pretty limited.
If I'm being honest, I'd rather stick with Pro Shrimp if possible, but if their plants are subpar, I'll need some alternative options that won't break the bank.

Abyss is my local store in Stockport and I've found their plants to be decent quality, although they are a bit pricier than Pro Shrimp. I think their prices reflect the fact that they have a massive building with over 150 tanks and a large team of staff, which obviously comes with high running costs. That being said, I've always been impressed with the quality of their products, including the fish. I've personally had a good experience with Pro Shrimp, having made around 18 orders with no issues.

edit - check out the Abyss tour video, it gives you an idea of the scale of their operation

I've found ProShrimp to be decent, not terrible by any means. Aqua Essentials is a step above, quality-wise - I'd say it's an 8/10 vs 9/10.

If you're in the market for tissue culture plants, I've had good experiences with Horizon Aquatics.
