Is it possible for a betta to coexist with cherry shrimp?
Is it possible for a betta to coexist with cherry shrimp?
I've been considering adding some Cherry Shrimp to my tank and I'm wondering if they'd be compatible with my Betta. The main concern is whether the Betta would see them as food or not. Can anyone share their experience with keeping these two together?
Re: Is it possible for a betta to coexist with cherry shrimp?
Most bettas will see cherry shrimps as a snack, and it's likely they'll try to make a meal out of them. Even if the shrimps manage to avoid being eaten, you'll probably rarely catch a glimpse of them, as they'll be hiding for their lives unless your tank is a lush, planted jungle.
While it's possible that some betta out there might coexist peacefully with shrimps, these would be the rare exceptions, rather than the norm.
