I've always thought of them as "spider plants" due to those offshoots they produce when mature - you can easily pot them and grow more. They make lovely, simple gifts when potted nicely. I've also seen them look great in hanging baskets. To be honest, I'm not too familiar with their specific light ...

Looks like a dead ringer for Chlorophytum Bichetii to me, commonly sold as 'Wheat Plant' here in the UK. Not an aquatic plant by any stretch, so definitely not suitable for submersion.


Thanks for the info, I've taken them out. 4.99 each from my lfs, I'm thinking of taking them back, it's not on ...

Hi thanks for the reply, appreciate it. So if it's a Cordyline or Dracaena, does that mean it's not suitable for aquariums then?

Secure a chunk of raw zucchini to a rock or broken flower pot with a rubber band, then drop it in the tank. The plecos will eat a surprising amount of it. Replace the zucchini after 24 hours for optimal feeding.

I've found a better setup for hatching brine shrimp - two 2-liter soda bottles with the bottoms cut off and turned upside down, connected to an airline. It's a lot cheaper and gives you the flexibility to adjust the size of the hatch to match your needs. The live babies are way more effective than ...
