Re: Growing black tubers on a banana lily

I know this is a very late reply.

The black color of the tubers doesn't seem to be a cause for concern, especially if the plant's roots are receiving enough nutrients. It's possible that the roots are taking over and the tubers are slowly breaking down as a result. I've noticed this in other ...

Growing black tubers on a banana lily

I've got this eBay purchase and the picture showed green tubers, but what I received is black. I've been searching online, but can't seem to find any info on Fluxx having black tubers or what that even means.

One leaf is already melting, which isn't unusual in my tank - I'm still figuring out the ...

Re: red tiger zenkeri lotus

The key to vibrant red-leaf plants lies in lighting. The reason plants display their characteristic hues is due to the way they reflect light. Most plants appear green because they reflect green light, which isn't essential for photosynthesis. On the other hand, red and blue wavelengths are ...

red tiger zenkeri lotus

NYMPHAEA RUBRA Red Tiger Zenkeri Lotus - that's the name on Amazon where I got it. What a cool name, right? It came as a seed with one shoot, and I'm thrilled to share a success story after all my previous questions and failures.

I'm really impressed with the Amazon seller - I didn't expect it to ...

Thought I'd actually deleted this thread, reposted in shrimp section since it's worm-related too...

Re: Creating a film on wood

Sorry about the link, can you re-share? That fungus on the driftwood might be a concern - some types can be toxic to shrimp. I'd recommend removing the wood, hosing off the fungus, and then putting it back in the tank to be safe.

I boiled the driftwood before adding it to the tank, so I'm ...

Re: Creating a film on wood

It's probably that fungus thing that grows on new wood in aquariums. Your shrimp might eat it or you can try to get rid of it during water change.

I'm cool with them eating it, though. I added a video link - could you check if those white worms might be a parasite issue?

Creating a film on wood

I can see these tiny white worms moving around on the driftwood, and I'm really hoping they're detritus worms, but there are also these other tiny white specks floating around - what are those? Then there's this cottony white film all over the driftwood, I have no idea what that is.

I only have ...
