Re: optimal placement for brain corals
Thanks for the advice, everyone. I'll try mid-tank and keep an eye on the flow. Appreciate the help!

optimal placement for brain corals
Just got a new Brain Coral and I'm not sure where to put it in my 75-gallon tank. I've got moderate flow and T5 lighting. Any tips on placement to keep it happy?

Re: Poll on ocellaris clownfish
You might be able to make do in a small space, but that doesn't mean it's ideal. Just like how you could get by in a tiny apartment, but wouldn't you rather have a big house with plenty of room to breathe? For clowns, a minimum of 30 gallons is really the way to go if you want them to live their ...

Re: Torch coral vs montipora coral
Depends on the monti, really. If it's just a basic red, I'd leave it be. But if you've got a nicer one, or one that's encrusting nicely, I think the torch is gonna keep growing and stinging it. In that case, I'd move the torch to give the monti some space.

Re: Brain coral issues
I've been thinking the same thing, that war coral above it might be causing some stress, could be part of the issue.

Re: still waiting for help with my item in the bag
I decided to take the coris wrasse back and opted for a filament flasher wrasse instead - I'm really digging the colors and that fin on top is pretty sweet. I might give the coris another shot in the future, but for now I'm focused on setting up my new 260 gallon reef tank - currently building the ...

still waiting for help with my item in the bag
I just picked up a red coris wrasse from my LFS and they claimed it's reef safe - I'm not buying it. I've got a thriving 125-gallon reef tank with a few hermits, a blood shrimp, a naso tang, a copperband butterfly, a flame angel, a bicolor pseudochromis, and a mandarin. The hermits are just for ...

about flying fish
I've had fish tanks for nearly 16 years now, and I've never had a fish jump out - that's a pretty good track record if I do say so myself. But, after my divorce, my reef tank ended up at my parents' place while I get settled into my new home. And let me tell you, my dad's had a bit of a fish-jumping ...
