I've tried to sex my own, but I've had no luck, the only reliable method I've heard of is by examining the vents, seems pretty hit or miss though. If you do end up with a pair, be prepared for some intense aggression when they spawn, good luck with that.

Newbie here with a 10-gallon, Nicrew light, 1.023 salinity. Should I even keep Palys? Got a frag from a buddy last week. Now I'm scared to look at them. Are there safer alternatives with similar color pops?

I'd leave the Angels in, keep the 2ft on standby, just in case. Exciting times ahead, fingers crossed it all goes smoothly

Your Red Forest Jewel does appear to be under stress. Adding a background to its tank might make it feel more secure, I noticed you don't seem to have one in place. I'd agree with that, female seems likely. The dorsal fin doesn't appear long enough to be a male.
