I agree with coltin, the behaviour you're describing does sound like they're being territorial due to eggs or fry. The fact that they've been showing spawning behaviour and the female was hiding for a couple of days suggests that this could be the case.

Re: help with a sick cichlid that has lost its color and stopped swimming and eating.
I'm really worried it might be something to do with the tank not being cycled yet - it's only been two weeks, after all. I think I'd try changing a big chunk of the water right now and then keep doing it every day for a bit.
Also, I'd get a water test kit as soon as possible, that way you can see ...

What's the size of your tank. I think that's the main thing to consider with Kribs, they can work in a community tank.

Monte Carlo is my go-to. It's chill and doesn't need crazy light. Just trim it now and then to keep it thick.

Re: Resolving female kribensis aggression
If your tank's not at least 4ft wide, I'd say rehome the extra female - anything less and you're asking for trouble. Honestly, I wouldn't even risk it in a 4ft tank.

Re: Are kribensis cichlids able to mate?
Krib pairs can take a while to get it right, had pairs that took 2 or 3 attempts before eggs hatched, so don't lose hope just yet, good luck with them.

Seeing that tank makes me regret not going with a Cichlid setup, I can only imagine how awesome it would've been.

I've been in your shoes before, Jamie. She's defending her territory, that's why she's turned on him. I'm guessing your tank's not the biggest, given he's stuck hiding at the top.
I'd take her out, give the tank a bit of a rearrange, and then put her back in after a day or two. That might calm her ...

Sounds like things might be kicking off with your kribs. I'm guessing they've got a cozy spot to call their own - I think I see a plant pot in your signature pic, is that a cave in the making?
