If all else fails, you could try a weighted lid. Something heavy enough to stay put but still easy to remove for maintenance. Just don't make it too hard to open.

Smart move. Zoas are a great indicator—if they're happy, your tank's probably stable enough for other LPS.

A 10 gallon can work for soft corals and some LPS like Zoanthids or Mushrooms. Just keep params stable, especially calcium and alkalinity. I'd avoid SPS unless you're running a high-end light and dosing.
