Re: discussing mbuna cichlids

Honestly, it's a recipe for disaster. Mbuna are naturally aggressive, so they're best kept with their own kind, in a slightly overstocked tank to dilute the aggression. Mixing them with fish from other regions is just asking for trouble - they'll harass them relentlessly.

Re: Where to buy plant packs in the uk

That's more like it. Aquaessentials seems to be the kind of place I was looking for, offering a variety of plant packs suitable for different tank sizes and types. Their delivery is also quite fast, with most orders being dispatched on the same day, which is great. Plus, they have expert help ...

Where to buy plant packs in the uk

Hi,

I'm setting up a 25L planted tank and I'm struggling to find the right plant packs. I vaguely recall some UK websites offering bundles tailored to tank size, plant type and difficulty level, but that was about 10 years ago.

Does anyone know of any sites that still do this? I've had a look but ...

Re: kerb has been protective

Just give people a bit more time to respond, topic's only a day old. Posting in the right sub-forums is usually the way to go, you'll get more accurate advice and help build those sections up, more activity in them means better and faster responses.

You've already started a thread on this yesterday, do we really need another one?

Also, this is an Old World cichlid question - I moved your last post to the right section, btw.

Re: Cyphotilapia frontosa discussion

I'm with axonix9 on this, mate. Your tank's a bit too small for a breeding pair of frontosas. They grow massive when they're adults, so you'll need something bigger.

Re: low-maintenance plants

Nine months on and I'm guilty of letting this tank just tick along with minimal maintenance from me - a bit of plant trimming here and there, mainly just to stop that one plant making a break for it. Still need to get a thin algae scraper to get into the bottom front of the tank, but that's not a ...

Re: low-maintenance plants

it's been a month and things seem to be ticking along. Plants appear to be doing alright, no major disasters. Hygrophila's grown a fair bit, that's for sure. Wood's a right mess, covered in algae, so I figured it was time to bring in some cherry shrimp - 6 of them so far. Plan, for now, is to keep ...
