Re: identifying betta species
If you were curious about the tail type too, it seems like a crown tail to me.

Re: Issues with holes in kleiner plants
I'm planning to catch those pond snails over the weekend, might be the culprit. If not, I'll try adding an extra root tab to the damaged ones, see if that helps with the yellowing. Appreciate the advice, everyone.

Re: Issues with holes in kleiner plants
If I'm dealing with a potassium deficiency, what's the best approach to manage it? Would adding extra root tabs or switching to a different liquid fertilizer make a difference?

Issues with holes in kleiner plants
Hey guys, so I've got a bit of a mystery on my hands with my Kleiner. I've got 2 out of 7 plants in this tank that are developing holes in their leaves - starts off brown, then the holes show up. These two plants are right next to each other, surrounded by 12 other swords that are all doing awesome ...

Re: Is my betta fish sleeping or showing signs of illness?
I just had a thought about your tank setup, I noticed you're using a reptile cave - I've got a few of those too, but I've been told they're not meant for underwater use, the material or finish could be leaching toxins into the water over time, which might not be helping your betta's situation. Maybe ...

Re: Are betta fish interested in snails as food?
I tossed an elodea stem into my betta tank from outside and caught a snail dropping off and floating away a couple weeks ago, but haven't seen any since. I'm assuming the same thing's happening in my tank. I'm also blaming him for munching on the leaves off the stalk - guess he's a bit of a plant ...

Oh I'm so glad you asked, it's looking amazing now that I've got the plants properly in. I'm actually really proud of myself, lol. I'll try to get a picture up soon. We've got a few fish swimming around them, they seem to love it.

Betta's color transformation
Here's my boy, I picked him up at 4 months old and he was labeled as opal. Got a couple pics to show the progress - first one's from April, second's from today. Marble might be a better fit, haha.
