I'll be keeping an eye on this thread, interested in seeing how things play out.

Re: setting up a 30-gallon aquarium
A 30 gallon tank, I've been there and done that, and to be honest, I didn't have much success. My 50 gallon tank has been a completely different story, it's been much more productive and easier to manage.
I think my main issue with the 30 gallon was overstocking, I just couldn't resist adding ...

Re: Feeding my cynarina a pricey breakfast
I've got a large Cynarina too, and I've lost three smallish peppermint shrimp, no idea where they went. This could be the reason - my Cynarina might have developed a taste for them as well.

Re: Hammer corals making a comeback
Could be legit. Had a couple frogspawn myself that I figured were goners, just skeletons, but they've since grown back complete heads – albeit a bit misshapen.

Re: Bubble coral care and maintenance
I've had success with my bubble coral using raw clam and frozen krill. It's grown quite large, reaching a diameter of around 14 inches when fully open.

Re: will a flame angel harass lps corals?
My flame angel, got him when he was small, kept him well fed - never had any issues with coral picking, personally.

Re: A mysterious case: my goby has vanished
I've got a snowflake moray eel in the tank, but it's pretty small - about 5 inches long and only a bit thicker than a pencil. Still, it's super aggressive when food's around and always looks like it's ready to pounce on my hand when I put it in the tank.

Re: A mysterious case: my goby has vanished
A lid or canopy is a must for me, I've learned the hard way. It's not just about preventing fish from jumping out, although that's a big one - I've had my fair share of gobies going missing and I'm starting to think that's what's happening to them. It's also about keeping airborne contaminants out ...

A mysterious case: my goby has vanished
lovely gobies, always vanishing into thin air on me!!!
so i picked up a blue cheek goby a month ago, and a couple days later, poof, gone. i scoured the tank, under the sand, rocks, everywhere outside the tank, and not a sign. i figured maybe it was just a one-time thing, so i got another one, an ...

Re: is a positive id required?
I've taken a closer look and I'm pretty convinced it's an Amblygobius Stethophthalmus, just like buzzbee mentioned. Check it out for yourself - http/www.reeflex.net/tiere/1991_Amblygob...hophthalmus.htm. To be honest, I wouldn't expect it to be drastically different from other gobies, but still a ...
