Re: krusty krab with fry
Oh they will be, and again and again... I had to siphon out the eggs eventually as I was getting overrun, beautiful fish but a bit overbearing in a community with all their breeding and protecting. A tank of their own would be good, I eventually rehomed all the fry and parents too, now I have a pair ...

Re: identification for cichlid
The closest match I've found so far is Aulonocara Rubescens, but I'm not entirely confident as I don't have a lot of experience with these fish. Being young, it's tricky to narrow down an ID. However, the orange coloration is a promising sign, and from what I've seen, they're absolutely stunning ...

Re: Is my betta constipated?
I'm pretty sure that's the swim bladder, it's more noticeable in bettas than other fish if you ask me. He looks healthy to me, nice tank setup you've got there.

Re: Help for a very sick betta
I appreciate your efforts to care for this betta, and I'm not trying to criticize, but I do think it's essential to consider upgrading his environment. A one-gallon bowl is quite small, and ideally, a betta should be in a tank with at least 5 gallons of space. This would provide him with more stable ...

Re: Help for a very sick betta
Good on you for rescuing the little fella, though I do wonder if it's a bit of an uphill battle. To offer more specific advice, I'd love to see a photo of him, but from what you've described, it sounds like you're on the right track. How's his current setup - tank size, water changes, heater, filter ...

What type of lighting are you using on that rotundroflora, looks like it's thriving.

Re: Acanthophyllia rotundiflora coral care and discussion
I think they've fallen out of favor a bit, not necessarily rare though. I've got a decent-sized colony myself, and I've got frags available too. They've got a nice purple base, with orange to red eyes, and that green edge on the growth.
Thanks for the info, I actually have the same one, purple ...

Acanthophyllia rotundiflora coral care and discussion
I remember rotundroflora being all the rage a while back, but it was super hard to track down in my area. Nowadays, I hardly ever see it for sale - I'm starting to wonder if it's just not as popular as it used to be, or if they're just really rare.

Re: Is my betta lazy?
I'm still thinking that the filter might be a bit too powerful for your betta. They're not exactly known for being strong swimmers, and they can get tired pretty easily. In the wild, they're used to really sluggish water with hardly any flow. So, when I hear that your betta is flopping against the ...
