I feel you on the growth issue, but honestly, be grateful it's not taking off like mine did - I had a nasty experience with an encrusting hydnophora that ended up overpowering some of my nicer corals before I finally got rid of it.

I was thinking of bumping up the salinity, actually aiming for 1.024, but I might try to get it a bit higher, like 1.025.
