Best food for Betta fish

What's the best food for bettas? I've been using flakes but heard pellets are better. My guy's in a 5 gallon with a sponge filter, temp at 78, and he's kinda picky. Tried frozen bloodworms once but he ignored them.

Re: Best Plant Combos for Color

Anyone tried Proserpinaca Palustris? It's got this wild orange-red hue under high light. Tricky to grow but worth it.

Re: Best Plant Combos for Color

My tank's got Limnophila Hippuroides and Ludwigia Palustris. The purple and red look sick together, and they grow fast if you keep the CO2 steady.

Re: Best flow for soft corals

Red Sea's solid. But yeah, drop that flow. My Mushrooms melt if the flow's too high. Also, how old's your tank? New tanks can be weird for soft corals.

Re: Is hard water a concern?

what's the glass or the water, right? sometimes it's so clear i'm not even sure what i'm looking at lol... floriks said cutting through with a saw, but i'd say if you need chuck norris to break through, that's when you know your water's hard

Re: Is hard water a concern?

I keep reading that GH should be above 7 and KH above 10, but what's the deal when both are around 18?

I'm in a super hard water area - my kettle's basically a chalk factory. I'm worried this water might be too harsh for Mbuna.

I've got the salts and all to recreate the right water composition ...

Re: Is hard water a concern?

can water be too hard for Mbuna? i'm in a hard water area and my kettle's got a serious chalk build-up - is this water too harsh for them? i've got the salts to simulate their natural water composition but using tap water seems like a gamble, or should i just add a hint of trace elements to it?
