Buce's dope if you're willing to baby it a bit. I've got some in a similar setup, but I had to tweak the flow and add root tabs. Anubias just sits there looking green no matter what.

Cryptocoryne Wendtii is another solid choice. It melts at first but bounces back hard. My 10-gallon has it in sand, and it's spreading like crazy. Just gotta be patient.

Re: Centerpiece fish for community aquarium

Rams are cool, but they can be finicky. If you want something tougher, go for a Pearl Gourami. They're chill, got that iridescent sheen, and won't mess with your other fish. Plus, they're not as fussy about water params.

Not really worth the trip from brum if I'm honest, A5 Aquatics is a bit pricey. You might be better off checking out Shirley Aquatics instead.

Re: are there cichlid breeders in the nuneaton area?

The veijas are £30 for the pair but I reckon he'd consider offers, and as for the rainbows, I'm not sure what he wants but I don't think they're expensive fish, there's 5 in the group.

Just a heads up, the veijas do get pretty big, they're about 5-6 inch and 8-9 inch at the minute, if I remember ...

I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking for, I've just set up my first cichlid tank and I'm still figuring things out. I ...
