Re: ATO setup for stable salinity

One last thing—if you're dosing anything, make sure it's not near the ATO intake. Stray Kalk paste nearly bricked my sensor once. Sketchy stuff.

Re: How much food for your fish?

Yo, sly_lash, I feel you. I used to dump food in like it was a buffet, lol. Now I stick to the 2-minute rule. My fish are chill, and the water stays clean. Also, skip a day once a week, it's good for their digestion.

Re: ATO setup for stable salinity

I had the same issue until I switched to a dual-sensor ATO. The redundancy cuts down on errors. Also, topping off with pre-mixed saltwater instead of RO helps if your evaporation rate's high.

Yep, dual sensors are clutch. I run a 10-gallon reservoir with a float switch and optical sensor, zero ...

Re: Is a 10-gallon saltwater fish tank a viable option

Re: Long-tentacle plate coral reacting to lighting.

It's a 46 gallon tank. I've tried feeding it, but it doesn't seem interested - it just holds the food for a bit before letting it go. I appreciate the suggestion, I'll definitely try moving it to a spot with less intense lighting to see if that makes a difference.

Long-tentacle plate coral reacting to lighting.

I'm having a weird issue with my plate coral - whenever the lights kick in, it starts closing up shop. When they're off, it's somewhat inflated with about half its tentacles out, but as soon as the lights turn on, it deflates down to its skeleton and pulls most of its tentacles in. Has anyone else ...
