Have you personally reached out to citySpin, or just browsed their website? I've had positive interactions with them in the past. It might be helpful to explain your situation to them.

When it comes to discus, larger is often better, especially for those just starting out ...

Thanks for the tip, Slybird. Do you pre-mix Seachem's Safe before adding it to the tank, or just add the recommended dose directly?

I'm with lunar, the discus look great, no stunting apparent to me either. Stability is indeed similar to prime, but its main purpose is to aid in the cycling process, supposedly speeding it up. I've found it helpful in my experience, but thanks for pointing out the ...

I've had great luck with Java fern, it's basically indestructible. I left it in a neglected 55 gallon tank for months, with old dirty water and zero maintenance - no trimming, no nothing. The tank was in a dark corner of my room, and the water was unheated, but the Java fern just kept on growing.

I agree with not using the old tank water. Fresh and clean is best, especially when setting up a new tank. Aged and aerated water is great for large water changes, but in this case, it's better to start fresh.
