For poret foams, you can try Swiss Tropicals. They have a filtration shop with the stuff you need.

You're right, Swiss Tropicals has got you covered. Don't let the upfront cost scare you, it's actually more cost-effective in the long haul since you won't need to constantly replace it!

Francis nailed it, SwissTropicals is hands down the best for my corner matten filters. I've tried other foams from Ebay and Amazon but they just don't cut it, SwissTropicals is in a league of its own. I swear by their 30ppi for my tanks.

Honestly, I'm not convinced. Foam is just foam, right? I don't see why it should make a huge difference.

Re: poret foam
Actually, Poret foam is specifically designed for biological water filtration in fresh- and saltwater, as well as pond filters. Unlike standard foams, it's free from plasticizers, pesticides, and fire retardants. This allows filter bacteria to thrive and form a healthy biofilm. Poret foam is also incredibly strong, with high compression and tear strengths, so it retains its shape and stays in place.

Really? Foam is a foam. It should not be big difference.

I've come across numerous types of foams, and trust me, they're not all created equal. It's surprising how much variation there is - foam is definitely not just foam.

I'm also a big fan of Swiss Tropicals. Their foam is top-notch. I even use it as a divider in my tank when needed. It's got great durability and lasts way longer than those other 'aquarium sponges'.

I've learned the hard way about cheap foam. I lost a bunch of precious baby Discus, a gift from Al, due to toxins released from it. Out of 12, only 3 survived. It was a heartbreak. I've tried the Ebay and Amazon Poret knockoffs in my shrimp tanks, but they just don't compare to the real deal from Swiss Tropicals. For my prized Discus, I wouldn't risk anything else. The quality and durability of Swiss Tropicals' Poret foam make it the only choice for me.

I've had a stroke and my mind isn't working too well lately. I did check the site but got overwhelmed - there are just too many options for 30 foam sheets. I've got a 150-gallon planted tank with two filters, so any advice would be a huge help.
