Re: considering geophagus: is it right for you?

Geophagus are lovely fish if you decide to go for them, I've got two altifrons and I'm thinking of getting a couple more, they're really coming into their own now they're maturing, stunning to watch.

Re: Brain coral issues

Honestly, I'd hold off on feeding for now, don't wanna stress it out further. Low flow, shaded area - that's where I'd put it. Just let it be, see if it bounces back on its own. If it starts looking better, then maybe a little food. GL with that.

Re: Keeping a grow-out tank in the garage in the uk year-round.

I've been running my tanks in the garage for 8 years now, no major issues to report. I've got a 9ft and a 6ft setup, both with their own sumps, plus a small marine reef tank. Initially, the energy costs were a bit steep, but after installing a roller shutter door, the insulation has made a huge ...

Re: Optimal placement for hammer coral stalks

I've learned that some corals, like Frogspawns, can grow new heads on their skeleton. What's most important isn't what the skeleton touches, whether that's rock or sand, but rather the flow and light it receives. And from what I've found, Frogspawns are pretty hardy and not too fussy.

Re: A 50-gallon tiger barb tank, 36 inches long

I'm not entirely convinced that tanks need a substrate. I've seen plenty of discus and monster fish keepers who get by just fine without one. That being said, I do think they have their benefits - especially for corys. I mean, if I'm being honest, I love corys and they're so much fun to watch in a ...

Re: Raising red eye red tail puffer eggs.

Spotted something interesting in the tank this morning - might be eggs, but not sure. Only other inhabitants are Glowlight Danios and Amano Shrimp, and these seem too big for Danio eggs. Thought it was pretty cool, to be honest. I've seen others successfully breed them, but I've heard it's quite ...

Re: Raising red eye red tail puffer eggs.

Would be awesome if they're Amano Shrimp eggs. I've always thought Danio eggs were really small, and I've noticed the shrimp keep theirs close by, and they're even smaller.

keeping african cichlids in a 48x15x12 tank

I've always been a huge fan of those amazing mbuna tank setups I see on here. Getting another tank over the weekend, and it's the same size as the one mentioned earlier. Wondering what kind of fish would thrive in it, and if it's spacious enough to replicate some of the incredible setups I've seen ...
