Re: Discus breeding tank size matters
Does tank height matter? I've got a tall 55 but it's narrow. Wondering if that's gonna mess with their vibe.

Re: raising discus fry feeding tricks
I've heard some folks swear by beef heart paste for fry. Gonna try it myself soon. My tank's a 20-gallon, temp at 87°F, with a sponge filter. Water changes are 25% twice a day. Anyone else use beef heart?

Re: Discus water hardness explained
I dunno, man. My LFS swears by RO for Discus, but my wallet says nope. I'm using tap with Seachem Equilibrium to tweak minerals. Tank's got a Fluval canister, temp at 84°F, and the fish are coloring up nicely. Maybe your issue's more about genetics than water?

Re: cloudy water in discus tank woes
Yo, my tank did this weird vibe thing too. Turned out my tap water had some sketchy stuff in it. Started using Seachem Prime and it cleared up. Maybe test your tap water, just in case?

I'm in Texas, so my water's naturally hard - we're talkin' high GH, high pH.

Do i have enough space to add more fish to my aquarium?
I've got a 20 gallon high tank, its a community tank with 12 fish in it already. I was wondering if I could add a few more, I've got a good mix going on. I've got 3 octo dwarf, 2 albino corys, 3 peppered corys, 3 female marble mollies and 1 male yellow molly. Should I add more fish or is that ...

Re: Growing my baby dwarf tears (hc)
To grow Baby Dwarf Tears successfully, I think we need more info on your tank setup - what are the dimensions of your tank, by the way? Also, what's the desired look you're going for with this plant? From what I've read, most people have had success with it by doing daily fert dosing, using high ...

Re: Discus Tank Help Please...!
I've come across some who claim 1 fish per gallon is the way to go. However, this doesn't quite apply when your tank's surface area is limited, making it tough to maintain good oxygen levels throughout. Most oxygen enters the tank through the surface, thanks to ...

It was a budget-friendly way to provide a high-protein diet for rapidly growing discus. I'm not aware of who initially used it, but it's likely a discus farmer took advantage of its affordability. Breeders often shared their feeding methods, and this one caught on with the ...

Re: Discus from lfs?
I'd advise against buying from a LPS if you can help it. Instead, try to find a local breeder - it's generally the safer bet. You might have a better idea of what you're getting and avoid potential issues with sick or contaminated fish.
