I've had a bubble coral for almost 15 years now, they're pretty hardy and can tolerate some dirty water, but sudden changes can cause them to react. I've had a bubble coral for a long time, 14 years to be exact. The one you've got doesn't look so great, but if it can recover, they're pretty hardy. One thing I've learned is they don't like being in the direct flow - keep it out of that area. High light isn't a problem for them, but if it came ...

I was thinking a small goby or jawfish might work well in a tank this size. It would pair alright with a couple of shrimp.
