I think light's probably not the issue here, that plant's pretty adaptable and can survive with minimal light for a while. It's also used in ponds and can thrive in emergent conditions, so it's not too fussy.

Most fish, including chilli rasboras, tend to be opportunistic when it comes to eggs - if they stumble upon them, they'll likely eat them. The eggs, after being laid, are pretty conspicuous to all fish, whereas the fry themselves have a better shot at survival since they can hide under various ...
