I'm thinking of upgrading in the future now that my cube is running smoothly, what's the minimum tank size I'd need to keep either a lipstick tang or an Achilles tang comfortably?

Hi mate, just to give a better idea, what's the current tank size in liters?

Haven't finalized the size yet, still figuring out what I'd need for either the lipstick or Achilles tang in my next setup.

So a 4 x 2 x 2 would be the bare minimum, but to be honest, a 5 x 2 x 2 would be a much better choice for these tangs.

I think the 4x2x2 just isn't going to cut it to be honest.

Might just stick with plan A, get some anthias instead

Achilles tang is a very strong swimmer mate, so it needs space to move around. I'd say at least 150-200 gallons is needed for this fish. They're also prone to white spot, so you'll need to keep an eye on that.

Cheers all, sounds like plan A is the way to go, thanks for the advice

If you're looking at a lipstick tang, I'd say 180 US gallons is the absolute minimum, assuming we're talking about the Naso lituratus. As for the Achilles, while it's technically possible to keep them in a 4x2x2, I'd only recommend that for experienced aquarists.
