I've no experience with this product or similar ones, so can't offer an opinion on its effectiveness.

In a well-maintained tank, bacteria naturally develop in the substrate to break down waste, which makes me wonder if this product is truly necessary.

Another product I'm not sold on, won't be adding it to my shopping list.
