Growing plate corals

Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my plate coral - it was getting pushed around by a tunneling goby, so I moved it back to its original spot. When I flipped it over, I found these weird things on the underside. Does anyone know what they could be? I highly doubt it's anything to do with reproduction, given the location, but I've had no luck finding any info online about this.

It seems like your coral's putting up a defense mechanism, that's all. Those little things are actually spawns from the coral itself. They'll eventually develop into small plates on stalks that you can clip later on.

That's a great point about the coral feeling threatened, I'm curious what's setting it off. It's eating well, always has its tentacles out, seems happy enough. Either way, new additions on the way, that's exciting.

Yeah I'm with you on that, they'll occasionally pop up on the plates.
