I'm thinking of adding New Era products to my Mbuna's diet, specifically their algae flakes and Rift Lake Cichlid Pellets - Green. Has anyone here used these before?

I've already placed an order, just wanted to get some feedback from people with experience. I like to mix things up with their food, so thought I'd give it a try.

If you're using other products, would be great to hear about them - could you list them here?

I've been using Hikari cichlid pellets as my staple food, supplemented with algae wafers. I also like to throw in some Aqueon cichlid pellets and their herbivore pellets to keep things interesting. Occasionally, I'll add some Zoomed spirulina 20 flakes to the mix. Variety is key for my Mbuna.

I'm always on the lookout for new foods to add to the mix, so I'll definitely be checking those out. I'm curious, what do you give your Mbuna as treats, oakleyride?

I've had good experiences with Hikari myself, it's a solid choice. I personally use their flakes to mix things up a bit, but my go-to staple is NLS. I do use Hikari in my wife's community tank, works well in there too. For my Mbuna, I just prefer the NLS Cichlid formula, it breaks down well for me.

I use NLS as their main staple, but also give them Hikari Cichlid Excel every now and then. For treats, I like to mix it up - usually romaine lettuce or peas, once a week.
