How to keep plants anchored

My anubias keeps floating up no matter what I do. I've tried tying it to driftwood with fishing line, but it still comes loose after a few days. Anyone got a better method that actually works long term?

Have you tried using super glue gel? It's safe for aquariums and works great for attaching anubias to rocks or wood. Just make sure the surface is dry before applying, then hold it in place for a few seconds. Mine haven't budged in months.

Super glue is a solid choice, but if you're not into that, cotton thread can work too. It'll eventually decompose, but by then the plant's roots should've anchored themselves. Just wrap it snugly around the rhizome and the driftwood.

I've had success with small lead weights wrapped around the base of the plant. It's not the prettiest solution, but it keeps them down until the roots take hold. Just don't crush the rhizome.

Yep, super glue gel is the way to go. Used it on my java fern too, and it's stuck like a champ.

If you're gonna use glue, make sure it's cyanoacrylate. Anything else might mess with your water params. Also, planting anubias too deep in the substrate can rot the rhizome, so keep that in mind.

I've had weird luck with rubber bands. They hold the plant in place long enough for roots to grab on, but you gotta check 'em regularly so they don't snap and float around. Not the most elegant fix, but it's cheap.

Thanks for the tips, everyone. Gonna try the super glue method first and see how it holds up. Appreciate the help!

My cat keeps knocking over my tank decorations. Anyone else have this problem?

This thread is about anchoring plants, not cats. Maybe try a lid or keep the tank out of reach?
