Scarlet hawkfish behavior issue.

I'm having some issues with my embera hawk, it's always swimming like crazy when I mention the hawkfish has calmed down, and for some reason, it just stops eating - it's weird because it spent 2 months in the shop and it looks really plump to me, but even when I don't say anything, it still does this and scares my chromis, I'm getting really frustrated with this behavior and if nobody can help me sort it out, I'll have no choice but to take it back to the store.

I'm not entirely sure I understand the issue you're having with your embera hawk - what exactly is it that you're trying to resolve?
Scarlet hawks are generally docile, feeding well and going about their business - it's the hawkfish that seems to be causing a problem, but I'm not clear on what's frightening your chromis.

He's like a mad fish, zooms around like crazy, and then just dives straight into the shoal, it's like he's got a death wish or something. When I feed the others, he just freezes, doesn't even flinch, like he's lost all interest, and then once the food's all gone, he's off again, swimming around like a maniac. I'm telling you, I thought these hawks just chilled on a rock all day waiting for food, but not this one, he's a nutcase.

They do move about, but also spend a fair bit of time just watching the world go by - you know, bouncing around, then having a chill. Like me, really. What's on the menu for your fish, then?

Mysis, brine or krill, he'll stop for a few seconds then he's off again, swimming around like mad, standing at the surface, then sinks. Do you know anything about bubbletip anemones, I've got a rose anemone, it's in good condition but never closes its mouth, I feed it daily.

You should try feeding once a week max - small silverside or prawn does the trick

Sadly my hawkfish has made a break for the big ocean upstairs, and I'm still trying to figure out what was going on with him, I mean, he'd swim like mad when I said he'd calmed down and just ignore food, weird right?

Still waiting to hear what killed the hawkfish, did you figure it out yet?
