I've got a 30 gallon tank with a pair of dwarf gouramis and some neon tetras. Looking for plant suggestions that'll work well with them. Something sturdy but not too demanding.

Anubias and Java Fern are solid choices. They're tough, don't need much light, and gouramis won't mess with them. I've had both in my tank for months with no issues.

I'd recommend adding some floating plants like Frogbit or Water Lettuce. Gouramis love hanging out near the surface, and these plants provide shade and cover. Just watch out for overgrowth, they can spread fast.

Yep, floating plants are a win. Also, try some Vallisneria. It's chill, grows tall, and gives the gouramis places to explore. Mine dig weaving through the leaves.

What about Cryptocoryne? I heard they're easy but not sure if gouramis will uproot them. My tank's low tech, so I need something that won't die on me.

Crypts are great for low tech setups. Gouramis might poke at them but won't uproot if planted deep enough. Use root tabs if your substrate's inert.

My gouramis leave my Amazon Swords alone. Those things are tanks, just gotta give 'em space to grow. They're kinda slow but worth it.

Second this. Anubias is bulletproof. Just don't bury the rhizome or it'll rot.

I've got Hornwort in my gourami tank. It's cheap, grows fast, and the fish like hiding in it. Only downside is it sheds a bit.

For a different look, try Rotala Rotundifolia. It's a stem plant that adds color and movement. Gouramis ignore it, and it's easy to trim if it gets too tall.
